Show me a person without an extraordinary ability in some area of life and I will show you a person who hasn’t looked back on his life’s journey enough. It has been recorded from antiquity that humans happen to be born with varied talents and special abilities spanning from singing, which is a more obvious gift to administration; the act of governing people and industries in a way that is edifying and exhorting. Ask David, who due to his great kingship and leadership to the people of Israel in the 9th century BC has been used as a metric to judge the performance of kings that came before and after him.
No matter the race, ethnicity or region you showed up from, one can’t say “I cannot sing because I am white” or “I am not good at math because I am a girl”. Of course statistics will corroborate the fact that a cluster of people be it race or sex may be prone towards a particular trait of habit. This however does not negate the possibility of people in the opposite and adjacent directions having the same tendencies. Why do some stuff fascinate you while others do not? Why does the implementation of some things feel like a second nature to you while others do not? We can postulate that humans are inherently born with giftings and supernatural ability in specific areas that if they should focus and invest in them, would make them relevant wherever they are.
This truth is captured in one key phrase employed all over the world_ ‘Show me what you’ve got!’. Be it a dance battle between two dance groups or a karaoke night in a Bar or even in a game play station. You are always asked that question. ‘What do you have?’. It’s the same question creation whispers: are we in the manifestation of people with talents and gifts? The world has always been a better place due to the impact of people with talents and not people who “went to school”.
I would argue that you are not necessarily successful because of what you went to school to study; You are far more successful because of how deep inward you looked. I am not saying that school is unnecessary. It’s obviously a place where some levels of civilization are passed on from one generation to the next. The art of reading, the art of writing and communication are all important skill set the school offers, but what does it really serve? If in the end one does not know himself to employ those skills strategically, then what does it really serve? Schools are at its best when they serve as a catalyst to the fulfillment and the sharpening of one’s gifts when one finds himself.
Could you argue to the contrary? Could you make the assertion that the world as it stands is void of people with extra graces in some fields? Failing to admit this would equal failing to admit that there is a God who is the creator of the universe.
Insane! one would say, what does the subject of God have to do with what is been said here? In other words, how does God come into the equation of giftings and talents?
Glad you pointed that out. Evil here will be defined as a master sending his subject on a journey without giving him an indication of what success would look like. The same will be true of an all-loving God to send you into the world without an inward indication of what success and fulfillment will look like to you. The question is not whether or not we are gifted but whether we are self- and inward looking enough to see these magnificent colors.
